Early Life

Beyonce Giselle Knowles was born on 4th September 1981, in Houston, a city in Texas. Her father is Mathew Knowles, a sales manager for Xerox, and her mother, Celestine “Tina” Knowles (née Beyoncé), a  salon owner.

Beyoncé was brought up as a Catholic and enrolled in dancing classes at Houston’s St. Mary’s Montessori School. When her dancing teacher, Darlette Johnson, started humming a tune and finished it, she was able to hit the high-pitched notes, which led to the discovery of her singing. After winning the competition at age seven by singing John Lennon’s “Imagine” to defeat 15- and 16-year-olds, Beyoncé’s interest in music and performing persisted. Beyoncé enrolled in Parker Elementary School in the fall of 1990, a music magnet school in Houston, where she would sing in the choir. She also went to Alief Elsik High School after attending the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. Beyoncé performed as a soloist in the choir at St. John’s United Methodist Church.

Personal Life

After working together on “’03 Bonnie & Clyde,” which was included in Jay-seventh Z’s album The Blueprint 2: The Gift & The Curse, they began dating (2002). Beyoncé and Jay-Z married on April 4, 2008. The duo has sold 300 million records collectively as of April 2014. Although they appear to have relaxed since 2013, they are noted for their close bond.

Beyoncé gave birth to a daughter on January 7, 2012, Blue Ivy, at Lenox Hill Hospital, New York City.  Then, Rumi and Sir were identical twins who were born in California.

President Barack Obama’s inauguration in 2009 featured performances of “America the Beautiful” and “At Last” by Beyoncé. The first inaugural dance at the Neighborhood Ball took place just two days later.
